The Prince of Wales will represent the United Nations climate conference in Brazil in the coming weeks, according to royal officials.

The father and son duo made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a gathering leading up to the climate summit, which is planned for in the Amazonian city of Belem.

The royal pair were participating in the museum gathering, marking an unusual joint appearance at a environmental conference preliminary meeting arranged together with the United Kingdom administration.

Climate Leadership Commitment

King Charles has been a long-time champion of protecting nature - and Prince William has assumed the responsibility, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be hosted in Rio preceding the climate conference.

Royal sources have portrayed William's involvement at the upcoming climate summit as taking on an important role in "environmental negotiations".

The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the state Bentley, were welcomed guests including conservation experts, scientists, environmental activists, foreign representatives and government officials.

This participation involved presentations alongside President Emmanuel Macron of France and other global statesmen at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in the Principality of Monaco during the current year.
